NUMERICAL SIMULATION
Answers for the real world
We can offer a vast range of solutions for the engineering and construction industry. From simple linear elastic static analyses to complex non-linear phenomena, including dynamics.
CIVIL AND STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
Solution for problems
Optimized structural design and clever solutions are always our final goal, to offer the best proposals to our clients.
STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING
Guidance in prevention
We can help you planning your structural health monitoring layout and guiding you through the signal acquisition and elaboration, even with numerical simulation guidance. Prevention is the key answer in existing structures.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Tool automation
With our experience in the world of open source software, we are able to help building automated tools for civil and structural engineering, customized on the user needs.
OUR PROJECTS
Kobe Innovation Engineering solves each client’s issues by providing a comprehensive approach backed by our team of experienced professionals. Our process fosters collaboration and innovation to ensure we not only understand the core needs of clients, but also help them develop successfully. Read our success stories below.
DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
Analysis of the damage effects
Assessment of the damage that the reinforced concrete structure may have suffered during an unpredicted event in the construction phases.
PARAMETRIC ASSESMENT
Parametric analysis of the damage causes
Safety assessment based on the parametric analysis of multiple causes that could have affected the crack openings and the damage in the structure.
DEFORMABILITY OF THE STRUCTURE
Concrete deformability simulation
Viscous and cracking effects have been taken into account to perform the long-time deformability of the reinforced concrete slab.
STEEL DETAILING
Fully detailed steel-concrete joint
Simulation of the behaviour, in terms of stiffness and strength, of a fully detailed steel-concrete joint.
STATIC TESTING
Assessment of the static vulnerability
The simulation helped in the analysis of the static vulnerability of the existing structural vaulted system, by reproducing the on-site experimental tests.
EARTH DAM STABILITY
Geotechnical vulnerability
Static and dynamic vulnerability of an earth dam for an artificial lake.
STRUCTURAL ELEMENT OPTIMIZATION
Thickness optimization of the steel roofing
The thickness of the designed steel roofing system has been optimized with the advanced thermo-mechanical coupling and the local stability checks.
LABORATORY TESTS
Diagonal test of a masonry specimen
The numerical simulation of the diagonal test was performed to qualify the constitutive law representation for such types of experimental testing.
A RENAISSANCE PALACE
The Bourbon del Monte palace static vulnerability
The causes of the old palace recent damage pattern were investigated through the whole complex modellation and the hypothesis of a soil local failure.
A RENAISSANCE STATUE
Michelangelo's David exposure to vibrations
The statue's vulnerability was investigated during opening and closing days of the Galleria dell'Accademia, with the modelling performed by Kobe to confirm the absence of major risks.
OLD FORTIFICATIONS
Vulnerability of the fortress
The massive masonry fortress' damage patterns were investigated, finding in a horizontal soil movement a possible cause for the major vertical crack opening.
TOWER STRUCTURES VULNERABILITY
Seismicity and Cultural Heritage
Vulnerability of tower-like structures possibly exposed to seismic excitation in all the directions (horizontal and vertical). Usage of transient non-linear dynamics for 3d elements.
RELIGIOUS BUILDINGS
Consolidation of a Medieval church
The survey campaign was performed under our guidance and the consolidation structural design was then delivered, based on the improvement of the static and seismic behaviour of the bell-tower.
OIL PLATFORM EXTRACTION
Long time structural health monitoring
Kobe members partecipated in the assessment of the platform correlated risks.
CULTURAL HERITAGE MONITORING
New methods for the San Gimignano towers
A workflow for the determination of the vulnerability associated to tower-like structures has been implemented thanks to Kobe members partecipation.
